Call Me By Your Name director Luca Guadagnino confirmed that Timothée Chalamet and Armie Hammer will reprise their roles as Elio and Oliver, respectively, in the film sequel to the queer hit from 2017.
In an interview with la Repubblica the director revealed some details about the upcoming sequel, which will be an adaptation of André Aciman’s 2019 follow-up novel, Find Me. Under lockdown in Milan, Guadagnino said that the current coronavirus crisis has delayed his travel plans to fly to America to meet with a potential screenwriter for the sequel.

“I was going to America to meet a writer I love very much, whose name I don’t want to mention, to talk about the second part,” Guadagninos said. “Unfortunately, everything is cancelled. Of course, it’s a great pleasure to work with Timothée Chalamet, Armie Hammer, Michael Stulhbarg, Esther Garrel, and the other actors. They will all be there in the new film.”
